He said: “Appreciation goes to the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, for his constant support in ensuring volleyball gets to the nook and cranny of the country.
“Nimrod, a man, who believes in grassroots sports, inspired me to take a big step by organising this competition, and without his support, I don’t think the competition would have seen the light of day.
“I want to thank the Kwara State Sports Commission led by Mallam Bolakale Mogaji; Kwara State Volleyball Association led by Bashorun Bankole; the Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Attahiru; Chairman of Nigeria Park Volleyball Commission, Maj.-Gen. Taritimiye Gagariga, among others for the success of the competition.”
Kuti, however, called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the growth of volleyball as a sport in the state, especially from the grassroots.
